Rumors circulated in early 2026 that Turkey would raise the citizenship-by-investment threshold from $400,000 to $650,000. As of this writing, no official increase has been enacted. The $400K level remains law.
What has actually changed: (1) Chinese passport holders now get visa-free entry to Turkey (since January 2, 2026). (2) Background checks have gotten more thorough — source of funds review is no longer perfunctory. (3) The proposed 10-year holding period (up from 3) is still under discussion.
Bottom line: the program terms are stable for now, but the direction of travel is toward tighter conditions. If Turkey fits your plan, earlier is better than later.
